The Firm: My client is a highly respected and well established public practice firm based in Mackay, specialising in Accounting & Bookkeeping, Tax, Audit, Superannuation, Business Advisory, Corporate Finance and Wealth Management. Due to growth, they are now seeking a career focused High Intermediate Accountant or Senior Accountant to join their team to provide quality advice and superior service to their clients. The successful candidate will have access to a variety of tax compliance work across a diverse range of clients and will have direct access to the Partners and Managers within their dynamic team. To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
  • Degree qualified + studying towards or completed CA or CPA
  • Experience with end to end tax compliance work
  • Good knowledge of Australian taxation legislation
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an Australian firm
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Be self-driven, confident and superior customer service skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Software experience: MYOB and Xero
  • Must be a team player with ability to take ownership
In this position, you will work on tax compliance for a range of entity structures which includes: individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies and super funds. You will also be exposed to Audit and learn how to complete these for clients. Core Duties:
  • Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for a varied client base including individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies and multi-entities
  • Calculation of various compliance matters including: work cover, FBT, BAS/IAS, Payroll Tax, Land Tax, Stamp Duty and PAYG Summary Statements
  • Attend client meetings (in support of a Senior/Manager), and help prepare tax planning advice
  • Research and prepare general client/business advice in conjunction with a Senior/Manager
  • Attend internal and external training sessions for continual soft-skill and technical training
  • Conduct low level audits and help prepare audits for larger $50 million clients.
